Tomatillo Salsa Verde with Avocado

20150131_171508YUM! we recently got together with friends for a mexican feast. This salsa which looked good was even better than the picture!

5 chile serranos
10 oz tomatillos, husks removed
1 garlic clove
1 Tbls vinegar
1 tsp salt

1/2 c cilantro
1/3 c onion, finely diced
1 avocado, peeled, pitted and cubed

Boil water  in sauce pan and add chiles. After 5 minutes add the tomatillos. After 3 minutes – remove all and drain.

Puree the chiles, tomatillos, garlic, vinegar and salt. Add the cilantro and onion and pulse a couple more times.

Place in bowl and add cubed avocado! Serve with tortilla chips.
