Cranberry Orange Bread

2 1/2 c whole wheat flour
1 c sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda

Mix together.

3/4 c orange juice
1 Tbls grated orange peel
2 Tbls shortening
1 egg, beaten well

Mix until well blended.

Stir in:

1 1/2 c craisens
1/2 c chopped nuts (optional)

Bake for 55 minutes at 350 degrees in a greased and floured loaf pan. Cool on rack for 15 minutes.
