3 C flour
1/2 c sugar
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda

Mix together

Cut in 3/4 c butter
add 1 c buttermilk

Mix together

Add in 3/4 c – craisins, dried-apricots & white chocolate chips, raisins, almonds (your choice)
Optional – lemon or orange zest

Mix together. Divide dough in half

Turn out one portion of dough on flat surface and knead 10-12 times. Place on baking sheet (I use a round stoneware) and pat out round to 1/2 inch thickness. Repeat with remaining portion.

Brush the top with buttermilk. Sprinkle with sugar. Cut each portion into 8 slices.

Bake at 425 for 12 minutes.
