I am so excited we found this book, Eat Your Way Around the World! Our school year curriculum is called Exploring Countries and Cultures. In it we get to ‘visit’ all 7 continents and 17 countries. Noah, who is now in third grade really enjoys cooking, so when we heard of this cookbook with meals from 34 countries, we decided to incorporate this into our school year, cooking approximately 1 meal a week for 34 weeks to coincide with either the country we are speaking of, or one of the countries in the same continent we are speaking of.
Our first meal was last week: United States of America – Fried Chicken, Corn on the Cob and Brownies. We listened to old time American patriotic music and enjoyed a traditional dish.
Our meal this week will be from Jamaica. Next week will be Canada…and we’ll see where we go from there!
